Learn what this means
Join a community of graduate students and professionals as we worship God and grow together in our faith.
Grad Fellowship is a place for grad students and professionals in their twenties to meet others in a similar stage of life. Each week we meet for live worship and a relevant topical Bible study.
What is Grad Fellowship (CGF)?
The Christian Graduate Fellowship (CGF) was established in 2020 as an offshoot of Power to Change UTSG. It began when a group of graduate students came together to explore challenging questions, such as how to live out their faith in the workplace. During the pandemic, as the Fellowship grew, meetings transitioned from virtual gatherings to in-person gatherings at members' homes. As the group continued to expand, it became evident that a more permanent and spacious meeting place was necessary. In 2022, Grace Toronto Church graciously offered its facilities for the Fellowship’s weekly meetings. By God's grace, the Christian Graduate Fellowship has continued to flourish, growing from a small group of students into a vibrant community of graduate students and young professionals. We are grateful to have become an official affiliate ministry of Grace Toronto Church.
Weekly Meeting
Each Wednesday evening we come together for a time of fellowship and discussion. The night begins at 7:30 with musical worship (led by our own worship team), followed by a short lecture or video to introduce the night's topic. We then move into smaller groups for deeper discussion and close with a time of prayer. All are welcome, and there's no commitment required to join. We look forward to welcoming you!
Our Community
Although we officially meet on Wednesdays, our fellowship is an active community throughout the week and there's always something happening. We meet on Sundays after service for lunch, and hold frequent meetups and events throughout the week. We'd love to get you connected!
Frequently Asked
What does an affiliate ministry mean?
Grace Toronto seeks to promote the Gospel in Toronto by partnering with different organizations in the city. One of the ways we do this is through supporting affiliate groups. We share a common vision, have complementary ministry focuses, and hold similar theological commitments on how the Gospel can transform our city. Our partnership structure may include hosting joint ministry events, financial support and / or the use of our building facilities for regular group meetings such as Grad Fellowship.
When does Grad Fellowship run?
Grad Fellowship runs year round! As many of us are no longer on a semester schedule, we're able to continue running throughout the summer. Typically we take a short break during the Christmas season and in late August, however there are usually unofficial get-togethers during this time.
Do I need to register to attend?
Our weekly meetings are drop-in style, no registration required! Feel free to invite friends throughout the year. We only ask that if possible, you arrive on-time at 7:30 so our welcome team can unlock the door for you.
Do I need to be a post-undergrad to attend?
While our fellowship is geared primarily to grad students and twenty-something professionals, we welcome anyone who feels comfortable participating.
Are there opportunities to serve?
We're always looking for volunteers who are willing to serve in our fellowship! Generally this involves 2-3 hours of commitment per month, including arriving 1-2 hours prior to our start time of 7:30pm. Some opportunities include:
• Worship team — if you play an instrument or can sing, help lead worship with us!
• A/V team — We're currently looking for help mixing audio or clicking slides
• Hospitality team — Help to setup chairs and greet people as they enter
• Social media team — Help promote our fellowship to new people!
